Citi Bike
Ad Panel Contest

Your Bikeshare, Your Art

Nov 15, 2022

In Summer 2022, we held a contest asking riders to submit artwork inspired by how Citi Bike connects them with their community. We received an amazing array of pieces, so thank you to everyone who submitted.

Members of our Citi Bike Equity Advisory Board–composed of New York City nonprofit leaders–reviewed the submissions and selected the following four winners based on originality, skill, and inspiration.

The winners, in their own words:

Areliza Parra, Brooklyn

My design inspiration was the soul of my neighborhood Flatbush. I was born and raised here & love it.

Julio Juarez, the Bronx

My connection to my neighborhood comes from being an immigrant and growing up in the Bronx, there's a shared struggle that connects all of us.

Jneyde Williams, Manhattan

As a young artist that is a resident of Fulton Houses in Chelsea, I am humbled to have a spectrum of experiences within the creative arts that provides access and opportunities to help me to connect and grow.

Sarah Dean, Queens

I love living in Astoria and can’t imagine living anywhere else! Citi Bike has made exploring the neighborhood so much easier!

These artists have their artwork featured on Citi Bike stations in their neighborhood, as well as throughout our service area in Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens, with many located next to NYC Housing Authority communities. The winners also each received a $500 prize.

If you’re one of the tens of thousands of people who see our station panels every day, snap a picture of the art and tag us (@CitiBikeNYC) with your own story!

This contest was done in collaboration with HealthFirst - a program that hopes to inspire New Yorkers to sign up for a $5/month reduced fare membership and ride with us.
