Here's all the info you need to redeem Citi Bike gift certificates.

Redeem a Gift Certificate

Did you receive a gift certificate for an Annual Membership?

Redeem in the Citi Bike app:
  1. Download the Citi Bike app
  2. Tap “Choose a Pass” and select “Annual Membership”
  3. Tap “Continue to Purchase” and then select “+ Add promo code”
  4. Input promo code and click apply
  5. Create a Citi Bike account by inputting your email and phone number
  6. Create a password
  7. Input your name and birthday
  8. Agree to the Rental Agreement
  9. Input your credit card information (*NOTE: Your credit card will not be charged when redeeming this code. A credit card is needed on file for all Citi Bike memberships to cover any extra time fees.)
  10. You're ready to ride!

Follow the link below, click "Redeem a Gift Certificate or Discount Code" and enter the 8-digit code on your gift certificate.

The annual membership includes unlimited 45-minute rides on a classic Citi Bike. If you keep a bike out for more than 45 minutes at a time, regardless of the type, it’s an extra $4 per additional 15 minutes. Please see the Annual Membership page for more details.

Did you receive a gift certificate for a Day Pass?

Redeem at any Citi Bike kiosk (found at the end of each Citi Bike station):
  1. Choose "Rent a bike" on the kiosk screen
  2. Insert your credit or debit card (don't worry, you won't be charged)
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions
  4. On the payment screen, select the "Have a gift code?" button
  5. Enter your 8-digit gift certificate code

You will receive a 5-digit ride code, which you'll use to unlock your bike. Pick out a classic bike and type the code into the keypad on the bike dock. When the light turns green, lift your bike from the seat to unlock it.

The first 30 minutes of each ride are included with your pass, and you can take as many classic bike rides as you want while your pass is active. If you keep a bike out longer than 30 minutes at a time, extra time fees apply. See the Day Passes page for more details.
